School Start Up Questions

Mr. Andrew Da Silva COVID-19, News, Principal’s Corner

Dear Parents,

We appreciate the thoughtful questions and suggestions that parents have had about the start of school. We are learning together and would like to provide you with an opportunity to ask for clarification about the safety and start of school plans by submitting your questions to We will accept questions up until Friday, September 4th, at 12:00 pm.

We will incorporate the answers to your questions in a communique which will be sent to you Tuesday, September 8th. At that time, we should have more information about the temporary transition plan for schools.

Please note that we will not be addressing items that have already been clearly communicated in the safety plan. For example, the use of masks. The school will not be mandating masks for students in Grades K to 7. As per the Provincial Health Officer, masks are optional for students; however, if you wish your child to wear one then they should. Individual partitions will not be purchased for each individual student. Each class and the two resource rooms will have a partition for when an itinerant teacher or education assistant works with a small group of students outside of the learning group and when a mask cannot be worn. Temperature checks will not be performed by staff at the school as it is the responsibility of parents to ensure that their child/children is healthy and symptom free prior to the start of each school day as part of the daily health check (click HERE for the link to Daily Health check form). As per the Provincial Health Officer, “there is no role for screening students or staff for symptoms, checking temperatures, or COVID-19 testing. Such activities are reserved for health care professionals.” Individual teachers will also be sending home a letter explaining routines for their classrooms.

Please note, on the first day of school, September 10th the drop off times will be the same as the other days listed in the information letter sent on August 26th

(Click HERE for link to August 26 Letter)

HOWEVER, pick up times were not clarified.  September 10th pick up will be surnames

  • L – Z – 12:00 – 12:15pm.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
