APPLICATION PACKAGES

Application packages for new families interested in having their child/ren attend St. Michael’s School in September 2012 are now available and can be picked up from the school office.

 

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Annual General Meeting for St. Michael’s School will be held on Thursday, February 23rd, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the school gym. Two participation hours will be given to each family in attendance. There will be important information discussed at this meeting including: “What’s New in Teaching”, School Growth Plan, Finances & Budget. Re-registration packages for returning students will be distributed at this meeting. If you have a child entering Kindergarten in September 2012 registration forms will be included in the re-registration package.

 NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS

On Thursday, February 16th and Friday, February 17th the staff will be attending the annual Catholic Educators’ Conference and therefore, the school will be closed.

STUDENT-LED CONFERENCES

Student Led Conferences for the second term will be held on Tuesday, February 28th.conferences will be held from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Similar to the first term conference day, students will come to school for their conference time only. Each conference will be scheduled for 30 minutes and will provide an opportunity for students to present their work for this term and for parents to give feedback and encouragement. Confirmation of conference times will be sent home on Monday, February 20th. Students must wear their school uniform to their conference.Please note that there are no regular scheduled classes that day.

PANCAKE TUESDAY

Our wonderful Parent Association will be serving a pancake breakfast to all students on Tuesday, February 21, 2012.

ASH WEDNESDAY MASS– FEBRUARY 22, 2012

There will be a school mass on Ash Wednesday at 9:00 am. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Mass will also be celebrated at 7:30 pm for those who are unable to attend the morning mass.

NON UNIFORM DAY

Thursday, February 23, 2012, will be a non-uniform day. The theme will be “What I want to do when I grow up.” Students wishing to participate should dress as what they want to be when they grow up i.e. a doctor, lawyer, hockey player; or what they want to do when they grow up i.e. win the lottery, go on vacation, etc. Students dressing up are required to bring in $2.00 for our charity fundraising. Students not wishing to participate must wear their school uniform.

CLASS/TEAM/CLUB PHOTOS

Class, team, and club photos will be taken on Monday, March 5th.  Please ensure your child is in complete uniform. If your child has a basketball uniform at home, please make sure he/she brings it for the pictures.

TUITION TAX RECEIPTS

Tax receipts for tuition paid during 2011 will be available for pick up at the school office on Monday, February 27. You may pick up your receipt in advance when you attend our Annual Parent Information Meeting on Thursday, February 23rd. Tax receipts will only be released to parents. Please do not ask your child to pick up your receipt for you. Receipts will not be mailed. Receipts will not be available on Friday, February 24th.
